ArticleName: The traditional "Thick" quadrille preserved on the territory of the Novosibirsk region Authors: N.S. Kutafina In the section Современное состояние фольклора
Abstract: The author revealed in the course of folklore-ethnographic feeldworks a unique form of thick quadrille, surviving up to the present present among the Belarusian settlers in the village Elanka of the Kuibyshev district and the village Kanderep of the Bolotninskiy district of Novosibirsk region. This variation "the thick dance" is not currently recorded in any Russian or Belarusian community in Russia. "Thick" dance preserved in the Novosibirsk region is a special form of a composition consisting of a fourfold repetition of each "lay figure" with a simple line dance of all pairs: "cross", right and left. In the process of practical studying of choreographic samples, the author identified the general shape of the composite structure of quadrilles of Kuibyshev, Bolotninskiy and Severny districts. Authentic performers, retaining this model, came to Siberia from the pre-revolutionary Belarus. It is therefore possible to admit the existence on the territory of the Novosibirsk region of the Belarusian model of a "thick" quadrille. Researches of professional Belarusian choreographers allow to assert that in a traditional Belarusian dance culture the scheme of "thick" dancing is not present. The author states that in Siberia, survived and preserved a unique model of "thick" quadrille lost in Belarus. The analysis of the Siberian many-figured dances and quadrilles allows to divide them into two groups according to the type of performing: the educational and artisans. In the artisan "thick" quadrille the coordination of participants and the professional qualities of the individual virtuoso performers are important. The "thick" quadrille forms and crystallizes the actual male and female original movements. The "thick" dances are the most difficult and virtuosic genre of traditional dance, they require special dance skills. With regard to the "thick" quadrilles, we can speak of a high technical level of performance, professionalism that is achieved by single pairs. The foundation for the study and practical development of the Russian dance-playing tradition is the folklore and ethnographic materials of the expeditions of N.S. Kutafina 1978-2005 in the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Chita, Tyumen, Pskov, Perm, Gomel, Vologda, Volgograd regions, Surgut district of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, Transbaikalia and the Altai Territory. The commentary presents expedition data, certification of authentic performers and description of three local quadrille variants.
